The people behind Painters Invercargill bring a practical, friendly approach to painting. Our small-team philosophy is built around discussing the work clearly, looking after the details and helping property owners feel comfortable with the process.
Hamish grew up in Invercargill and developed his painting approach while working on older Southland homes and renovation projects. He particularly enjoys the preparation stage of exterior painting because it is where many future coating problems can be addressed. Outside work, he enjoys fishing trips around Southland and restoring old hand tools in his home workshop.
Sophie has strong family connections to Invercargill and enjoys the detailed work involved in refreshing interiors. She takes a particular interest in colour combinations, clean edges and choosing finishes that make sense for everyday living. Away from painting, she enjoys gardening, visiting local markets and spending time with her family.
Callum has a Southland background and enjoys hands-on work, especially exterior surface preparation and organising materials for larger painting projects. He has a practical approach to access, cleaning and making sure surfaces are ready before coatings are applied. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking and weekend trips through the region.
We begin by discussing what the customer wants to achieve and looking at the surfaces involved. Hamish helps establish the proposed scope and preparation requirements, while Sophie and Callum bring their respective strengths to interior finishing and exterior work. We believe the best results come from clear expectations, suitable products, careful preparation and an organised approach.
During a painting project, we aim to keep communication straightforward and explain any issues that arise. We take care around areas that need protecting and discuss practical timing, access and the sequence of work. Whether the project is a small home refresh or a substantial repaint, our goal is to make the experience understandable and the workmanship something we can take pride in.
