Painters Invercargill was founded by Invercargill painter Hamish McKenzie, who developed his approach to the trade while working on older Southland homes and local renovation projects. He saw how often the condition beneath the paint mattered more than the colour on top. Weathered timber, peeling coatings and overlooked repairs taught him to focus on preparation before opening a tin of paint. His aim in establishing the business was to offer straightforward painting advice and a dependable way of working.
Today, Hamish works alongside painters Sophie Wilson and Callum Fraser. Each brings a different strength to the job, from detailed interior finishing to exterior preparation and larger repainting projects. We keep communication simple, explain what we find and aim to leave each work area tidy. We believe customers should understand what is included in a quote, what may need extra attention and how the work will progress.
